Here at StedyChefs, our morals are set high and we believe in inclusion, equality and opportunities.
Our Learning Centre is based in Fazakerley – we provide our services to all boroughs of Liverpool, Wirral and surrounding areas. StedyChefs Learning Centre is a cookery school with completely unique services that show a difference.
The whole concept of StedyChefs Learning Centre is hugely popular. There has been interest in opening up in worldwide areas such as France, London, Germany.. all from seeing the progress and joy which it has brought to our students’ faces. Learning new skills, making new friends and improving their lifestyle are just a few benefits of being a part of the StedyChefs family.
Our students cook completely nutritious foods, completely from scratch, working in a fully-equipped commercial kitchen and wearing full Chef attire. This gives the full experience of what it really will be like when all targets for employment have been reached.
We are a Disability Confident Employer and we have recently become a part of the Independent Cookery Schools Association. This was a huge milestone for us as it shows that StedyChefs are fully accredited as a professional Learning Centre.
We supply healthy and delicious lunches for our students, which when they take samples home – parents are so proud and always compliment the skills that have been used that day to create the dish.
In a fun, safe environment, students learn and achieve all the skills for a recognised transferable qualification of a L2 Food Hygiene certificate. This shows great prospective for potential employers.
Giving hands on experience within commercial kitchens is great for our students not only to experience the pace and procedures to follow, but allows them to participate in a role comfortable to them.
We have a large communal area for students to do their coursework, socialise, eat and also an activities room for any breaks.
A full pick up and drop off service is included within the course cost, meaning that we can accept students from all boroughs and parents / carers can be assured that they are in safe and professional hands throughout the day.
During the past few months, we have had a number of meetings with local authorities and other community groups. A point which was continually raised is that there isn’t enough of a variety of weekend activities for adults with disabilities. We then decided to follow our company morals and begun a new Saturday service – once a month we host Cookery Workshops for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities with free entry for support staff.
We strive to ensure that our services make a difference to all involved. Our main goal is to reduce the figure of adults who have a disability that are classed as unemployed down from 94%. By working with employers and students, we are creating a pathway to greater futures and allowing individuals to become independent, confident and to achieve personal goals.
Striving to make a difference, we believe in empowered futures.
